WE’RE HIRING A PERSON IN CHARGE FOR OUR NEW RESIDENTIAL SERVICE IN LETTERAGH, GALWAY.

We’re seeking an energetic and responsible Person in Charge to lead the day‑to‑day running of our service. This key role involves ensuring smooth operations, supporting staff, maintaining high standards of safety and compliance, and creating a warm, welcoming environment for everyone who engages with our organisation.

This state-of-the-art development includes:

  • A beautifully designed 4-bedroom bungalow built to the highest standards, complete with ceiling hoists, large accessible wet rooms, and wide corridors for ease of movement.

  • Modern apartments, fully finished and furnished, where individuals will receive one-to-one support.

  • A brand-new Day Service, due to open in the coming weeks, which will provide further opportunities for growth, independence, and community engagement.

The Person in Charge role will have specific responsibility for the Resiential Service

What does the role encompass?

As Person in Charge, you will guide the overall direction of the centre, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, and safety. You’ll champion person‑centred support, build respectful relationships, and foster meaningful engagement within the home and the local community.

You will oversee staffing, budgeting, and day‑to‑day operations, ensuring resources are used effectively and in line with organisational and regulatory requirements. Working closely with your team, you’ll promote best practice, support staff development, and ensure all programmes, routines, and supports reflect the individual needs and aspirations of those who call the service home.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for an experienced Person in Charge who is committed to making a difference and is passionate about improving the quality of life for the persons we support. You will bring strong communication and problem-solving skills, and can work both independently and as part of a team. A full driving licence is required. Essentially, you must have Person in Charge experience to be considered or nursing experience at CNM2 Level.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least three years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within health or social care.

  • A Level 7 or higher QQI‑recognised qualification in nursing, social care, or health science.

  • NMBI registration (for nursing-qualified applicants).

  • A relevant management qualification.

  • A strong track record in managing residential services, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legislative standards.

  • Demonstrated experience in budget management and effective resource planning.

  • Proven ability in report writing, personal support planning, people management, and roster coordination.

  • A full, clean driving licence.

  • Excellent IT proficiency and confidence using digital systems.
