We are now hiring for our brand new state-of-the-art services in Letteragh, Galway.

We are continuing our recruitment drive for staff to join our exciting new service in Letteragh. This upcoming Ability West service includes a state-of-the-art residential bungalow designed to accommodate 4 individuals. The residence is brand new and thoughtfully designed with every modern amenity to support a high quality of life for those who will live there. It features spacious wet rooms, electric ceiling hoists, and extra-wide doorways—making it both accessible and a joy to manage.

In addition to the residential bungalow, the Letteragh site will also include a new Day Service, along with three individual apartments offering one-on-one residential placements.

To bring these services to life, we’re building a large, dedicated team—and recruitment starts now. We expect to take over the services in the coming weeks, followed by the HIQA registration process for the residential homes. Everything is progressing on schedule.

Clinical Nurse Manager/Person in Charge - We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager/Person in Charge to oversee the operation of a newly established residential service, designed to provide high quality, person centred care to adults with age related changing needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a background in Clinical Nurse Management and a strong understanding of HIQA compliance and regulations. The person appointed will play a key role in ensuring the service meets all regulatory standards, while also fostering a safe supportive inclusive environment that emphasises dignity and accessibility for residents. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in the setup and design of the service, ensuring that each aspect, from the physical environment to the care provided, promotes comfort, functionality and independence. This role requires a dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering excellent care and who can effectively manage and support a team ensuring that residents’ needs are met with respect and compassion at all times.

Social Care Workers/Team Leads As a key worker for the individuals you support, you will play a vital role within the team and be encouraged to supervise and lead in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Manager/Person In Charge. You will have the ability to create person-centred plans that empower those you support to live their best lives. Work positively and constructively with people we support who present with behaviours that challenge and be involved in the planning and implementation of specific approaches and programme designed for the people we support. Facilitate the people we support to use their leisure time tailored to their needs with an emphasis on community integration.

Instructors - Candidates should possess the competencies and skills appropriate to working with persons with an intellectual disability and be able to work as part of a team. These are hands on roles where you will be assisting the persons supported by instructing them on a variety of areas including, arts, crafts, social skills, woodwork, cookery, horticulture, and independent living skills. Candidates will have experience in working with and supporting people who may present with behaviours that challenge and have an ability to instruct the people in our care in all programmes offered at Day Centres. Full current driving licence required. 

What you'll need to succeed
You are committed to making a difference and are passionate about improving the quality of life for the individuals you support. Driven by enthusiasm, you will advocate for positive change in the disability sector. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you can work both independently and as part of a team. You possess strong problem-solving abilities and hold a full driving licence.
