FRIDAY 27TH FEBRUARY - Ability west car draw fundraiser! (GBFM @ Croílár)
The official launch took as place at Croílár Day Service, Unit 7/8 Tuam Road Centre, Tuam Road, Galway H91 YH39 and was launched on the Galway Bay FM Ronan Lardner show, and the launch was sponsored by Kinlay Hostel Galway.
A Day of Music, Song and Great Craic at Croílár
Croílár was alive with music and celebration as Leo Moran of the Saw Doctors joined our staff, the people we support, and visiting families for a truly memorable afternoon of music, song and craic. The atmosphere was incredible, with laughter, conversation, and community spirit filling every corner of the service.
Throughout the event, broadcaster Ronan Lardner captured the moment with a series of interviews, speaking with our CEO Julie Silke Daly, our Board Chair Ray Kelly, and Joseph Faulkner, the newly appointed Chair of the Advocacy Council. He closed out with a warm conversation with Leo Moran, rounding off a fantastic lineup.
Earlier in the week, John Farragher recorded a special interview, which concluded the programme with a performance of his beautiful song “The Robin.” It was an unforgettable day—one we will cherish for a long time.
But the celebration also marked an important moment for us: the official launch of our Car Draw – here are the details:

Why are we fundraising?
While the HSE fund the overall operation of our services, families know better than anyone that the needs of the people we support go far beyond what current funding allows.
This car draw will help us:
Increase alternative respite provision
Expand summer respite for children with intellectual disabilities and autism
Enhance sensory equipment and experiences across our Day Services
Support a wide range of needs that directly improve quality of life for the children and adults in our care
Enhance sensory garden developments
Investment in assistive technology leading to meaningful independence.
In short, this fundraiser will create an additional income stream for Ability West to give us the financial flexibility to do more, respond faster, and provide better supports for the people and families we serve.
