‘ROCK THE BOAT’ ON SALTHILL PROM - 15 JUNE

Join us on 15th June and be part of this official Guinness World Record attempt at the longest ‘Rock the Boat’. Registration commences at 11:15am.

What to expect?

1,702 people is the current world record and we hope to shatter this record by having over 2,000 people so please expect that traffic into and out of Salthill will be busy*. We would encourage you to walk, cycle, carpool, or use public transport where at all possible.

Suggestion: bring a paper/bag/jacket to sit on and appropriate rain gear in the event of a shower or two.

Local business, O’Reilly’s Bar & Kitchen, will have refreshments/food for sale in the vicinity of the event for any hungry Rock the Boat participants.

Registration for the Event

Registration will take place on the Prom in Salthill from the Blackrock Wall (diving board end) to Ladies Beach on the pavement at several locations, commencing from 11:15am.

You will be required to sign your name to the participant sheet.

The Event: Rock the Boat

MC Ollie Turner and the local band BARDON will entertain the crowds from 11:15am.

At 12 noon you will be requested to sit on the prom and wave your arms up in the air for 5 minutes while DJ CORKY plays the Hues Corporate ‘Rock the Boat’ song.

There will be three independent adjudicators who will validate the number of participants.

Mementos of this Official Guinness World Records Attempt

All participants will receive a commemorative wristband (donations welcome) and an Official Guinness World Records Certificate of Participation
